ZIP code 10035 (East Harlem, Manhattan) tops the City Rat Index leaderboard with 1,463 rodent complaints and a Rat Pressure Score of 100 — the only ZIP to reach the maximum index value in the January 2025 – June 2026 (18 months) study period. East Harlem is a designated NYC Rat Mitigation Zone, where the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) concentrates abatement resources and inspection frequency.

The Rat Pressure Score is a percentile rank (0–100) computed from NYC 311 rodent complaint counts per ZIP code during January 2025 – June 2026 (18 months). A score of 100 indicates the ZIP with the highest complaint density in the measured set; scores are not absolute infestation measures.
